Jonathan L. Hollis

Jonathan (Jon) Hollis holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on oral histories of Armenian instrumentalists who emigrated from Azerbaijan in the 1980s. He combines historical musicology, critical biography, and memory studies to find the meanings the music of this group hold for this diaspora group.

His research has been supported by American Councils for International Education, the National Association for Armenian Studies Research, and the American Research Istitute of the South Cacuasus.
